Best dressed this week: Sonam K Ahuja and Janhvi Kapoor

Just like her cousin Sonam K Ahuja, Janhvi Kapoor seems to love her Anamika Khanna ensembles. This week, the 21-year-old attended the 2019 edition of the Lions Gold Awards to pick up her Best Debutante award for Dhadak (2018) in a multicoloured lehenga-meets-trousers Anamika Khanna that’s perfect for the boho barati. And she wasn’t the only one to catch our eye in pretty Indian ethnic wear. As the week came to a close, we also spotted Dia Mirza making a case for pared down festive looks in a pastel Anavila sari. What’s the common factor between Kapoor and Mirza’s looks? Both actors chose to complement their traditional ensembles with silver jewellery instead of gold or diamond pieces.

For the rest of Bollywood, Western looks in happy hues were the pick of the week. Pink was a popular choice amongst India’s biggest stars, with Deepika Padukone making an appearance in a colour-blocked blush + vermillion Gauri & Nainika ensemble, Sonam K Ahuja walking the red carpet in Switzerland in a rosé-hued Mark Bumgarner dress, and Sara Ali Khan meeting fans in a sorbet pink off-shoulder blouse, which she tucked into a playful emerald green skirt. Another star who stood out this week was Kareena Kapoor Khan. There was no missing the actor in that cheery blue Basil Soda maxi for an event in Chennai.

Overseas, this week’s highlight had to be the 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards, where Charlize Theron stood out in a metallic ombre maxi, Nicole Kidman experimented with a not-so-basic Giorgio Armani Privé silhouette and Emmy Rossum made a strong case for red velvet in that slinky Ralph Lauren Collection number.
