A resentful boyfriend tortured and killed his partner's child because he was angry he had to babysit the little girl.
Bradley William Walter Logan told police in an interview that he 'felt very angry' when his girlfriend left him with her 18-month-old child at their home in Cairns, Queensland on January 15, 2007.
In the 20 minutes the 18-year-old was left alone with the girl, Logan inflicted serious injuries to her.
He swung her by her legs so her head struck a TV, inserted objects in her body and inflicted numerous blows to her abdomen.
When the child's mother returned home, she found her boyfriend sitting calmly on the couch in his underwear and watching TV - while her little girl was laying motionless on a bed.

Her injuries were so serious that the child's face was broken and her body bruised.
She was rushed to Cairns Hospital but died from internal bleeding just before midnight.
Afterwards, Logan demonstrated to police how he had inflicted at least 18 individual blows on the girl.

In the interview with the officers, he admitted to causing the girl's death, but denied it was his intention to fatally beat her.
He later pleaded guilty to two counts of rape.
During the 2008 court case, Justice Stanley Jones labelled the crime as 'horrific', 'cruel' and one that caused 'revulsion in all right-thinking persons'.

'And the mother; I don’t think anyone can really understand the pain she will suffer because of your actions,' he said.
The jury took only 20 minutes to hand down a guilty verdict.
