BSY not concerned about KFD in Shivamogga, says Madhu Bangarappa
Times News Network | Jan 18, 2019, 05:30 ISTShivamogga: Former MLA and JD(S) leader Madhu Bangarappa on Thursday criticised BJP state president and former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa for not being concerned about the Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD) commonly called monkey disease, which has thus far claimed seven lives in the state.
Madhu, who visited villages where residents have been diagnosed with KFD in Aralagodu in Shivamogga district on Thursday, said that Yeddyurappa, who represents Shikarpura, an assembly constituency in the district, was more focused on Operation Kamala. “He should be visiting the areas affected by KFD, and extend necessary services. He would have realised the gravity of the problem had he been infected by KFD virus, and had not received medicines on time,” said the former MLA.
Madhu also did not spare Yeddyurappa’s son and Shivamogga MP BY Raghavendra, to whom he lost the byelection two months ago, pointing out that neither had shown concern over what was a growing menace. “At a time when villages in Shivamogga are battling a disease, BJP MLAs from the district are in Gurugram, staying at a star hotel,” said Madhu, criticising the saffron party’s attempts to topple the coalition government in the state.
