BENGALURU: Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy laid the foundation stone of bone marrow transplant unit of Kidwai hospital on Friday morning.
The project is estimated to cost Rs 17 crore funded by the state government. The construction is likely to complete in an year's time.
"This unit will help the poor needy patients suffering from cancer, especially children suffering from blood cancer, thalassemia. This is one of the largest projects in India," CM said taking part in the event.
Stating that it was his third visit to Kidwai in the last seven months, he is aware of the staff crunch in the hospital.
