SJSAD’s new district office inaugurated

PUNE: ‘Bharatratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Samajik Nyay Bhavan’, a new office building by Social Justice and Special Assistance Department (SJSAD), was inaugurated by Minister of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) Prakash Javadekar in Vishrantwadi on Thursday.

The new office is adjoined by a residential hostel, which facilitates accommodation for 1,000 students.

Javadekar stated that everyone in society should receive justice regardless of caste, creed and religion. 

Javadekar said, “The Central government has come out with a historic decision to provide 10 per cent reservation to the economically weaker section of the general category without affecting the existing reservation. For this, we will increase 25 seats in colleges to facilitate the newly created reservation.”

Deputy Commissioner (Pune region) Avinash Devsatvar had stated at the press meet, on Wednesday, that considering 2008, the State government has decided to have department offices in each district. 

With completion of building in Pune, Pune region comprising of Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur and Solapur will have offices in each district.

Four new buildings of the hostel have been constructed, each consisting capacity to house 250 students, the work for two buildings is completed and have already given admission to 450 students. Work for the remaining two will be completed soon. 

Social Justice and Special Assistance Maharashtra Rajkumar Badole, Minister of State Social Justice and Special Assistance Dilip Kamble, Minister of Water resources Vijay Shivtare and others were present for the event.
