NEW DELHI: BJP has dismissed the grand rally of opposition parties at
Kolkata on Saturday as a “mere photo opportunity” of a disparate group which has several prime ministerial contenders each working with the negative agenda of preventing
Narendra Modi from becoming the prime minister again.
Kailash Vijayvargiya, BJP general secretary in-charge of
West Bengal, told ET that the leaders of various political parties who are attending the rally at Brigade ground are engaging in a “lottery” where they fancy their chances of becoming Prime Minister.
“This is a grouping of different ideologies and political parties who did not see eye to eye. The rally is only a photo session. It is not a coalition nor is it a gathering of parties having similar ideological leanings.
They are gathering there with a negative agenda of preventing Modi from becoming the PM again,” he said.
