Chinese firm makes employees crawl on busy road after they fail to meet targets

Beijing, Jan 18: Instances of humiliating the employees for not being able to meet the sales target is something not new in China. In the past, there have been reports of Chinese companies making their staff members who failed to reach the sales targets drink urine and eat cockroaches.

On Monday, January 14, a similar story of a company punishing some of its employees in most unusual way since they failed to meet their year-end targets went viral online.

In incident happened in Zhaozhuang city in China's Shandong province where at least six workers were seen crawling on the sidelines of a busy road on their hands and knees. A man holding a flag with the company's name on it was leading them, Shanghaiist reported.

The bizarre procession was stopped by the police and the company's operations were suspended temporarily. The managers reportedly said that they were only trying to "motivate" the employees after they fell short of their allocated sales goals.

Chinese firms have also been known for slapping and spanking workers and also make them eat live worms among other forms of punishment for not being able to produce results.
