Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, ‘Naujawan ao ray naujawan gao ray, lo kadm milyo re,’, 90-year-old Gandhian thinker, Dr S.N. Subbarao who is working for peace in the world, started his address the entire auditorium was filled with energy and the buoyancy of applause.
He was addressing the National Service Scheme (NSS) in Government Hamidia Arts and Commerce College, Bhopal on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th anniversary year. He addressed the youth on ‘Concept of New India’ in the lecture organized on the occasion.
Dr. Subbarao said that if a person has the ability to do something, and the ability to think, then he is a young man at the age of 88, whereas a person who is 18 years old and has no courage to fulfill some dreams then he is an old person.
I am working on this principle with the youth at this age, today we are trying to make India a world leader then it is necessary for a healthy mind. The youth must give one hour to body and one hour to the country. Do the yoga exercise for one hour and give one hour in service of society and planting trees to keep the Earth green.
There is no country in the world with diversity like India. This country has given birth to four major religions of the world, where thousands of languages ??are spoken. Today we need to be sensitive; the death of sympathy is very dangerous. Violent incidents will continue to happen and we will continue to be a silent spectator.
Peace is possible on the basis of compassion, love, harmony, secularism. The incidents of violence in the country are increasing day by day, where is the human society going? There is no more diverse country. We respect all religions.
We have imagined that in a meeting where Ram, Jesus, Nanak, Hazrat, Gautama Buddha are sitting. That meeting can last for a month, but their followers cannot sit peacefully in a meeting for even a day.
Today change will not come with guns; we can bring change only with the help of actions. Only young generation can break the bondage of caste and promote social harmony. He called upon the youth and said that the active youths should keep on working in a positive environment in order to build a responsive atmosphere, nothing will happen with silence.
In the end, Subbarao shared the experiences of the Quit India Movement. He said we had to hide the tricolor from the British but when the country was free in 1947, the tricolor was unfurled in all glory. I cannot express that moment. It was the most thrilling moment of life.
Presiding over the programme, principal Dr. PK Jain said that it is the moment of pride that in this age, such an old Gandhian who is working among the youth in the society is in the college.
Special guest Rahul Singh Parihar and Secretary Gandhi Bhawan Nayas Dayaram Namdeo and Abhishek Agyani were present on this occasion. The programme was conducted by Chauhan and Dr. Sudhir Kumar Sharma proposed vote of thanks. The district organizer for the prestigious role of National Service Scheme, Raseo Dr.RS Narwariya and Programme Officer Dr. R.P. Shakya were honored with shawl.
