HYDERABAD/AMARAVATI: The cold war between K Chandrasekhar Rao and N Chandrababu Naidu is set to intensify in the coming days with TRS indicating that the Telangana chief minister will travel to Andhra Pradesh in a fortnight and prove to his counterpart and arch rival that the federal front promoted by the TRS chief is very much a reality. Naidu too hit back at KCR by telling TDP leaders via videoconference on Thursday that YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy is aligning with a man (KCR) who had opposed granting of special category status for AP.
“CM KCR will visit AP in a fortnight and disprove Naidu who had commented that there was no such thing as a federal front. The AP CM will soon see how real it is,” TRS MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav told the media at the assembly here on Thursday. Talasani himself had visited AP for Sankranti festival for which he was criticised by the TDP. “My visit was due to my bonding with the people there. I will visit Yadavs not only in Andhra Pradesh but everywhere in the country. What does Chandrababu Naidu know about family bonding?” Talasani said in a veiled reference to the coup in which Naidu had become CM after dethroning his fatherin-law N T Rama Rao in 1995.
KCR’s proposed visit to AP, during which he is likely to meet YSR Congerss chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to take forward his federal front, will increase the sabre-rattling by the two Telugu CMs. KCR has already thrown enough hints that he or his leaders will campaign against Naidu in the AP assembly elections.
Meanwhile, in Amaravati, Naidu wondered as to how would Jagan achieve special category status (SCS) for AP by taking KCR’s support. “KCR is the leader who vehemently opposed granting of SCS to AP during his recent assembly election campaign in Telangana. And he had also demanded that if AP is given SCS, the same should be extended for Telangana too,” Naidu said whie interacting with party leaders across the state via videoconference on Thursday. The AP CM also charged that the federal front floated by KCR is only a mask of the BJP.
Naidu said the Telangana CM has been stalling the division the assets listed under Schedule-IX, X in the AP reorganization Act in spite of a Supreme Court verdict directing the same.
KTR, Jagan meet exposed their unholy alliance: Naidu
“The meeting of KTR and Jagan thoroughly exposed their unholy alliance. People are ready to teach them a fitting lesson,” said Naidu.
He asked whether Jagan is ready to ask TRS leaders to extend their support for the construction of Polavaram project, SCS and division of assets.
According to Chandrababu Naidu, both KCR and Jagan were working at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to create confusion among the voters.
Naidu took strong objection to YS Sharmila’s allegations against TDP about the smear campaign against her on social media.
He said that TDP had never encouraged such campaign against any woman.
Chandrababu alleged that YSRCP was responsible for spreading malicious campaign against women leaders of TDP through social media.
The Andhra Pradesh CM said the TDP government would not tolerate any false propaganda by misusing social media.
