Nagpur: Success does not come easily as one has to chase it which is possible by dint of hard work. However, people tend to get comfortable after tasting success which is dangerous and therefore they should ensure that there is no place for complacency to creep in, said famous actor Boman Irani on Friday.
Speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the sixth National Students Parliament organized by Raisoni Group of Institutions (RGI) at its engineering college auditorium at Digdoh Hills, Hingna, Boman said, “We are our own teachers and only we have the ability to handle ups and downs in life. Success is possible if we learn from struggles in life.”

MP Bhupendra Yadav, journalist Manish Awasthi, former MP Ajay Sancheti and Sunil Raisoni, chairman of the institution, were present. The event gives students an opportunity to debate on issues concerning nation and society.

Boman underlined the importance of hard work and said youngsters should not settle for anything less in life and chase their dreams to be successful. Only those will succeed who have passion and desire to do something in life, he said.

Tracing his life journey, Boman said he started his career as a photographer and covered Boxing World Cup, Miss World and Miss Universe events before making a foray into the world of cinema. He said he had made a short film but was not released. However, Boman’s work did not go unnoticed as he was spotted by a person who said he would soon get a good break.

Boman said, after the passage of some time, that person took him to renowned filmmaker Raju Hirani. Subsequently, he got a role in Hindi movie Munnabhai MBBS which became a hit. He has not looked back since then. His success story touched many a heart in the audience.

Earlier, the inaugural session started with the lighting of a traditional lamp by the guests.

In his address, Raisoni said he was happy to be part of this event and thanked the guests. He concluded his speech with a quote, saying, “Yuhi nahi milti raahi ko manzil, ek junoon sa dil mein jagana hota hai! Poochha chidiya se kaise bana aashiyana to boli bharni padti hai udaan, tinka tinka uthana padta hai!”.

Awasthi spoke about how the stage of RGI has been lucky to a number of people. He also announced that Boman was planning to start a production house soon. He thanked Amina Vali and Aarti Deshpande for organizing the event.

Sancheti said students or people should always listen to what their heart says. Students have the power and right to do what they want to do in life. They should follow their passion instead of getting influenced by others.

There will be people from different backgrounds, politicians or businessmen who will deliver speeches. Mere applauding them is not enough but how inspired you get after listening to them is important as it makes a lot of difference, he said.

Yadav said people should focus on achieving their goals. He explained the role of the parliament and how important its decisions are.
