Similar facility will come up in Kurnool and Tirupati, says Home Minister

Home Minister N. Chinarajappa on Friday said steps would be taken to minimise white collar offences in the State.

Addressing a meeting after inaugurating a regional cyber forensic laboratory on the premises of the Rajamahendravaram Urban SP’s office, he said the lab was established at a cost of ₹3 crore and would be beneficial to the police in cracking technology-related offences.

Observing that there was a rise in the white collar offences and misuse of social media, Mr. Rajappa said the police too were using updated technology to curb crime and book offenders. Two more such laboratories would come up in Tirupati and Kurnool, he said. Inspector-General of Police N. Sanjay, Eluru Range DIG N. Ravikumar Murthy and other officials and elected representatives were present.
