Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs destroyer Willard Katsande believes Wednesday's 3-2 win over AmaZulu has given the club confidence to beat Zesco United in Saturday's CAF Confederations Cup play-off second leg.

Chiefs go into the contest at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg needing to overturn a 3-1 first leg deficit which was played on January 13 at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Nonetheless, the Glamour Boys are largely in good form having won three of their last four Absa Premiership matches under coach Ernst Middendorp.

As such, Katsande takes the view that Amakhosi must be positive against Team Ya Ziko.

He said: "It was crucial to get the win against AmaZulu because we are going into a crucial, crucial match [on the weekend], for which we need confidence at all costs playing at home.

"We won the past game against Wits and this one, so that's two away matches that were very, very important for us [to win] going forward.

"It's going to also help us because we need to climb up the ladder in the league and try to do well (in all competitions).

Adding of his three league goals this season, the Zimbabwe star concluded: "It's always important to contribute to the team. It's not only for strikers to chip in with goals, or defenders to actually defend.

"Because we could say at some point there are instances where [Leonardo] Castro also chases back from the strike force to defend, so everybody has a duty to contribute in the team.

"As for scoring goals, it's a plus for me, but overall I'm more worried about the team, because the team comes first before any individual."
