Mumbai: Eighth Edition, of “India Art Festival’ that flagged off on Thursday witnessing a huge high with the number of artists and Indian and International galleries participating. The festival was inaugurated by actor Dilip Joshi of Tarak Mehta… fame, Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, Dr Saryu Doshi, former editor, Marg Publication and Suhas Bahulkar, writer and chairman, NGMA. The art fair proves to be a treasure of sorts for art lovers from across the country with 5,000 works on display including paintings in oil, acrylic, water colours.
The festival aims to be an art platform for all levels of artists rural or urban which will be on till January 20. IAF this year has an outstanding array of 40 galleries with their 300 artists and over 250 individual artists participating from India and from cities worldwide promising a lot more for this year’s artists, art students, art collectors, art buyers, art enthusiasts and art connoisseurs.
The art festival, will also hold seminars and talks through the section ‘IAF Conversations — Artistic Dialogues’ on the January 18-19. Day 1 of the conversation will observe topics like “Seeing Palsikar through the Progressives” to be conducted by Prabhakar Kolte and “Art of Jyoti Bhatt and Hemant Shah” by Vilas Shinde.
