Reliance Industries' chairman
Mukesh Ambani today revealed that his company is planning to launch a new e-commerce platform. Gujarat will be the first state where the new platform will be launched, Ambani said while speaking at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit today.
Jio and
Reliance Retail's new e-commerce project to empower 12 lakh shopkeepers in Gujarat, he said.
"Jio is committed to create a fully connected Gujarat. We will make Gujarat a fully prosperous state," he said.
He added that Jio's network is fully 5G ready and his company will not only help the state create Smart Cities but also smart villages.
Ambani also added that
RIL will double its investments and employment numbers over next 10 years.
"Reliance will move away from concentrated investments in few locations to much larger investments in a distributed manner all across Gujarat."
At the summit, Mukesh Ambani also said that RIL has a new oil to chemical strategy which will greatly boost India's exports and create jobs.
During his speech, he also said that RIL is committed to invest Rs 150 crores more in the Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University which, he said, would make it an institution of international repute.
Addressing prime minister Narendra Modi, he said, that Mahatma Gandhi ji led a movement against political colonisation.
"Today we have to collectively launch a new movement against data colonisation. In this new world, data is new oil and data is new wealth."
"Indian data must be controlled and owned by its people and not by corporates, specially by global corporations," he added.
He added that need to migrate the Indian data back to India.
