Share market update: Nifty PSU Bank index flat; Syndicate Bank down 2%
NEW DELHI: PSU Bank shares were trading lower with the Nifty PSU Bank index flat in Friday's morning trading session.
Shares of Syndicate Bank (down 2.65 per cent), Indian Bank (down 2.58 per cent), Central Bank of India (down 0.99 per cent ) and Union Bank of India (down 0.95 per cent) were the worst performers in the index.
Bank of India (down 0.86 per cent), IDBI Bank (down 0.82 per cent) and Oriental Bank of Commerce (down 0.67 per cent) too were trading with losses.
The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.02 per cent down at 3119.85 around 10:30 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 39.15 points at 10,866.05 while the BSE Sensex was down 111.95 points at 36,262.13.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.
Shares of Sun Pharma, YES Bank, RIL, Ashok Leyland, Vedanta , SAIL, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, SBI, BHEL and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
