The halfway point in the January transfer window has come and gone.

There have been plenty of rumours about Liverpool signing players but there has been no movement so far.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has, of course, dismissed any suggestions that anyone will arrive at Anfield in this winter window.

That, however, does not stop fans talking about who they’d like to see at their club or also who they realistically want Liverpool to bring in.

So journalists at the Liverpool Echo have chosen one player from every club in the Premier League who’d they would like Liverpool to sign either realistically or in dream world during the transfer window.

A full list of the other 19 teams in the domestic competition and a player with a reason are given below.

AFC Bournemouth

Nathaniel Clyne . Any chance of bringing him back for a few games?!? (Ian Doyle)

David Brooks . Young and exciting creative midfield talent who would be a good squad option right now. (Connor Dunn)

Callum Wilson . Liverpool are on the lookout for reinforcements in the striking department and Wilson is a regular scorer for the Cherries.  (Joe Rimmer)

Nathan Ake . Capable of playing at centre-back and left-back, the 23-year-old Dutch defender would be a solid squad option at least for the Reds. (Theo Squires)

Arsenal

Alex Iwobi . It’s tempting to go with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but Iwobi would surely revel in a Klopp team. (Ian Doyle)

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang . Joint top Premier League goalscorer who would no doubt add to Liverpool’s potent attacking threat. (Connor Dunn)

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang . It would be a toss up between Lacazette and Aubameyang, Arsenal’s two truly world class performances. I prefer the latter and think he’d fit in well at Liverpool. (Joe Rimmer)

Aaron Ramsey . His move to Juventus hasn’t been confirmed yet. An energetic, creative midfielder with an eye for goal? Jurgen Klopp’s sort of player. (Theo Squires)

Brighton & Hove Albion

Pascal Gross . Could prove a definite option in midfield - and always good for the odd assist. (Ian Doyle)

Shane Duffy . A strong, goalscoring central defender who could be a good reserve or rotation in the Reds hours of need. (Connor Dunn)

Mat Ryan . An accomplished goalkeeper and would provide excellent competition to Alisson. (Joe Rimmer)

Mat Ryan . Has been linked to Liverpool before and would be a decent option as cover for Alisson, well better than most of the Reds’ back-up shot-stoppers over the past decade anyway. (Theo Squires)

Burnley

England and Burnely goalkeeper Nick Pope

James Tarkowski . As Liverpool have discovered of late, you can never have too many centre-backs. (Ian Doyle)

James Tarkowski . A solid central defender whose cemented his place in the Clarets’ back four but could be an option in the same vein as above. (Connor Dunn)

Nick Pope . For the same reasons as Mat Ryan. (Joe Rimmer)

Robbie Brady . Wand of a left foot and can play left-back and left-midfield. An improvement on Alberto Moreno and deadly from set-pieces. (Theo Squires)

Cardiff City

Er, no . (Ian Doyle)

Neil Etheridge . Has faced five penalties in goal this year and only Jesse Lingard and Eden Hazard managed to put one past him. (Connor Dunn)

Lee Peltier . Local lad, versatile defender. Could provide back up at both centre-back and right-back. (Joe Rimmer)

Callum Paterson . The ultimate utility man. A physical presence upfront off the bench who can also fill in at right-back and in midfield. (Theo Squires)

Chelsea

Chelsea's Eden Hazard hammers home the winner in the Carabao Cup at Anfield against Liverpool
Chelsea's Eden Hazard hammers home the winner in the Carabao Cup at Anfield against Liverpool

Eden Hazard . He’ll never quite be as good as he thinks he is, but the Belgian is now going dangerously close. (Ian Doyle)

Eden Hazard . Rumours suggest the London side have put a £100m price-tag on and he’d be some signing. (Connor Dunn)

Eden Hazard . It had to be, didn’t it? He’s one of the finest players in world football and would improve any team. (Joe Rimmer)

Eden Hazard . I want to be different and say Cesar Azpilicueta but I can’t ignore a front three of Salah, Firmino, Hazard. (Theo Squires)

Crystal Palace

Liverpool's Nathaniel Clyne battles for the ball with Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha at Anfield
Liverpool's Nathaniel Clyne battles for the ball with Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha at Anfield

Wilfried Zaha . A winger that will not only provide cover for the front three but also genuine competition. (Ian Doyle)

Aaron Wan-Bissaka . He would be excellent cover at right-back at Anfield particularly looking at Trent Alexander-Arnold now out for four weeks with injury. (Connor Dunn)

Wilfried Zaha . Zaha is such a talented player and I could see him providing a great alternative to Sadio Mane in Liverpool’s attack. (Joe Rimmer)

Martin Kelly . If Joe can re-sign Peltier, I want Kelly! Always liked the defender and he’d provide cover at centre-back and right-back. Bring him home. (Theo Squires)

Everton

Jordan Pickford of Everton looks thoughtful during the Premier League match between Everton FC and Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park on December 23

Dominic Calvert-Lewin . As a completely different option up top, why not? (Ian Doyle)

Jordan Pickford . England’s number one would be a great back up to Alisson in goal despite the famous error this term. (Connor Dunn)

Richarlison . For pretty similar reasons to Zaha, He could play in any of Liverpool’s front positions. I’d have gone for Andre Gomes, but he just hasn’t done it for long enough yet. (Joe Rimmer)

Ademola Lookman . Caught me eye very early on during our shared Championship days and have been a fan ever since. A solid, attacking alternative off the bench. (Theo Squires)

Fulham

Ryan Sessegnon takes on Tottenham's Kieran Trippier for Fulham in the FA Cup fifth round clash at Craven Cottage
Ryan Sessegnon takes on Tottenham's Kieran Trippier for Fulham in the FA Cup fifth round clash at Craven Cottage

Ryan Sessegnon . Liverpool need another left-back and left winger, so why not the player they have previously tried to sign? (Ian Doyle)

Aleksandar Mitrovic . An attacking threat who could potentially offer something a little different up front. (Connor Dunn)

Ryan Sessegnon . He was one of the most promising young players in the country last year and despite an inconsistent season so far, he’s still young and full of talent. (Joe Rimmer)

Ryan Babel . The aforementioned Ryan is the obvious one but I’ll go for this one purely because he hadn’t signed for Fulham when the other three wrote theirs and I want to be different. Can’t imagine him being what Fulham need in a relegation battle but wouldn’t be the worst back-up attacking option for Liverpool and sure he’d bite off your hand for a return to Anfield. (Theo Squires)

Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town's Aaron Mooy celebrates putting his side ahead in their win over Manchester United
Huddersfield Town's Aaron Mooy celebrates putting his side ahead in their win over Manchester United

Aaron Mooy . Easy to call him the least worst at the Premier League’s poorest team, but the midfielder has a bit about him. (Ian Doyle)

Aaron Mooy . Midfielder, the less said the better. (Connor Dunn)

Aaron Mooy . Hardest pick of the lot. But who else is it realistically going to be? (Joe Rimmer)

Terence Kongolo . Capable of playing at centre-back and left-back, the 24-year-old Dutch defender would be a solid squad option at least for the Reds. I’m getting deja vu, here. (Theo Squires)

Leicester City

Leicester City's Jamie Vardy celebrates putting the Foxes 3-0 up against Liverpool

Ben Chilwell . Liverpool need another left-back so why not the player they have previously tried to sign? (Ian Doyle)

Ricardo Pereira . A talented and versatile defender who can play on either side of the backline and also in the midfield. (Connor Dunn)

Jamie Vardy . Maddison, Pereira and Chilwell all came under consideration but, with Liverpool needing back up in the striker department, I still think Vardy could be a real threat. (Joe Rimmer)

Jamie Vardy . Wouldn’t say no to Pereira or Chilwell but with Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi probably both off in the summer, Vardy is arguably one of the most suitable strikers Klopp could sign as back-up. (Theo Squires)

Manchester City

Joe Gomez battles for possession with Raheem Sterling during the Premier League match between Liverpool FC and Manchester City at Anfield on October 7, 2018

Kevin de Bruyne . There are plenty of City players who ANY club would take. But surely for what Liverpool need, the Belgian is the standout. (Ian Doyle)

Fernandinho . He may be 33 but he dominates the midfield and would be an excellent addition to the Liverpool engine room. (Connor Dunn)

Bernardo Silva . There are so many to choose from. I love Aguero, Fernandinho and Laporte. But I adore Bernardo Silva. He can do everything and his work ethic would be perfect in Klopp’s midfield. (Joe Rimmer)

Raheem Sterling . Yes, I know. But he’s scoring goals and getting assists for fun for Pep Guardiola’s side. He’d have been great in Klopp’s front three if he hadn’t forced his way out. Leroy Sane would do the same job though. (Theo Squires)

Manchester United

Paul Pogba battles with Christian Eriksen during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United at Wembley Stadium on January 13, 2019

Paul Pogba . Can you imagine the Frenchman playing in the position he likes under a manager that would love him? Wow. (Ian Doyle)

Paul Pogba . You can’t get away from the Frenchman’s incredible ability and talent to run a game from the midfield plus imagine him under Klopp. (Connor Dunn)

Paul Pogba . Just imagine if Klopp could get in Paul Pogba’s head. Imagine what they could do together. Klopp could turn him into the world’s best player. (Joe Rimmer)

Anthony Martial . Was United’s star player this season before the rest of the squad picked up their tools again after Jose Mourinho’s departure. A prolific attacking threat anywhere across the front three. (Theo Squires)

Newcastle United

Jamaal Lascelles of Newcastle United tackles Dominic Calvert-Lewin of Everton

Salomon Rondon . He’d be a lot better alongside better players - and would be a different option in attack. (Ian Doyle)

Jamaal Lascelles . The only realistic choice from Rafa Benitez’s squad and plays in defence where the Reds’ injury woes currently lie. (Connor Dunn)

Jamaal Lascelles . Lascelles is tall, strong and a leader. He’d be a good addition to Liverpool’s back four. (Joe Rimmer)

Martin Dubravka . Not a lot of exciting options in Rafa Benitez’s side, but the 30-year-old goalkeeper always looks impressive. He’d do a job backing up Alisson. (Theo Squires)

Southampton

Southampton's Nathan Redmond appeals for a penalty after the ball hits Manchester United's Eric Bailly's hand
Southampton's Nathan Redmond appeals for a penalty after the ball hits Manchester United's Eric Bailly's hand

Cedric Soares . Very much in the Jurgen Klopp mould of attacking full-backs. (Ian Doyle)

Nathan Redmond . Probably won’t be a popular choice and not an area Liverpool need to strengthen being an attacking midfielder but could be a good squad option. (Connor Dunn)

Yan Valery . There isn’t a great lot of thought behind this other than I’ve seen him play a couple of times and was impressed. (Joe Rimmer)

Matt Targett . Would have said Oriol Romeu at the start of the season but no need now Fabinho’s stepped up so I’ll go for the 23-year-old left-back. Moreno’s off and he’s another with a wand of a left foot. (Theo Squires)

Tottenham Hotspur

Liverpool's Alberto Moreno and Tottenham Hotspur's Son Heung-Min battle for the ball during the Premier League clash.
Liverpool's Alberto Moreno and Tottenham Hotspur's Son Heung-Min battle for the ball during the Premier League clash.

Heung-Min Son . Works hard, has good pace, understands the team ethic and knows where the goal is. The South Korean would be perfect. (Ian Doyle)

Harry Kane . Excellent goalscorer who would certainly add to Jurgen Klopp’s attacking line-up. (Connor Dunn)

Heung-Min Son . I adore Harry Kane. What a player. But Heung-Min Son would fit in so well at Liverpool. Perhaps more than any other player in the Premier League. (Joe Rimmer)

Heung-Min Son . See Doyle and Rimmer’s answers. Great player, though I will add one further word to the argument - versatile. (Theo Squires)

Watford

Andre Gomes in action during the Premier League match between Everton FC and Watford FC at Goodison Park on December 10, 2018

Abdoulaye Doucoure . Not for nothing is the mobile, progressive, powerful midfielder regularly linked with interest from Anfield. (Ian Doyle)

Roberto Pereyra . He’s the Hornets best player going forward and they’re sat in seventh place in the Premier League so would be a good option off the bench. (Connor Dunn)

Abdoulaye Doucouré . I quite like Roberto Pereyra, but Jan Molby says Abdoulaye Doucouré is very good. And I trust him. (Joe Rimmer)

Abdoulaye Doucoure . Could see him slotting in well into that Liverpool midfield. Has one trait a lot of his team-mates don’t appear to possess too - consistency. (Theo Squires)

West Ham United

Felipe Anderson and Marko Arnautovic speak during the match between Arsenal and West Ham United
Felipe Anderson and Marko Arnautovic speak during the match between Arsenal and West Ham United

Felipe Anderson . That he’s ended up there was a real coup for the Hammers - he won’t be there at the start of next season. (Ian Doyle)

Felipe Anderson . Has showed incredible talent going forward this season and again could be an game-changing substitution. (Connor Dunn)

Felipe Anderson . He is the business. I’m convinced a few top clubs will regret not making a move for him sooner. (Joe Rimmer)

Felipe Anderson . It’s a full house! Could say Andy Carroll just for the laughs but I’ll stick with the obvious choice. Stunning signing for the Hammers, they’ll make a healthy profit on him in the summer. (Theo Squires)

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolverhampton Wanderers Ruben Neves celebrates scoring against Cardiff City
Wolverhampton Wanderers Ruben Neves celebrates scoring against Cardiff City

Ruben Neves . Clearly the most interesting player in an interesting team, but Pep Guardiola is right to suggest he’s not quite £100m. Yet. (Ian Doyle)

Ruben Neves . He’s an incredible looking talent and at only 21 is a mild no-brainer selection from Nuno Santo’s side. (Connor Dunn)

Matt Doherty . Call me crazy for ignoring Jimenez and Neves if you like, but I love Doherty. Liverpool need depth at right-back, too. (Joe Rimmer)

Ruben Neves . How is he still only 21?! The best player in Wolves’ squad by an absolute mile. (Theo Squires)
