This year, the focus to be on preventive health

The city would host the 13th edition of Global Healthcare Summit from July 19 to 21 which would bring together eminent doctors and healthcare service providers from across the globe.

Suresh Reddy, president-elect of American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), said the focus would be on preventive health, targeting rural health and women’s health, and providing special CPR trainings.

It has been a tradition to host the summit in the city of the president of AAPI and this year, Dr. Suresh Reddy would take over as the president of the association in July at its convention in Atlanta, U.S.A. The AAPI has a membership of over one lakh physicians of Indian origin, and is considered the largest ethnic organisation of physicians in the United States. Dr. Reddy, who is in India for the preparatory meeting, said one of the impactful programmes of AAPI was ‘Adopt a Village’ spearheaded by Jagan Ailinani, former president of AAPI, and Alok Aggarwal, who has adopted a village in Telangana. The team of AAPI for Global Health Summit comprising Anwar Feroz Siddiqui, chief strategic advisor, AAPI; Raghu Lolabhattu, co-chair, GHS-2019; Sudhakar Jonnalagadda, vice-president 2018-19; Anupama Gotimukula, AAPI’s secretary-2018-19; Sanku Rao, former president of AAPI; Sreeni Gangasani, chair of AAPI Convention; Satish Kathula and others called on Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu and others to invite them for the conference.
