Pence claims ISIS \'defeated\' after US soldiers die in Syria attack

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) U.S. Vice President Mike Pence claimed "ISIS has been defeated" hours after four U.S. service members were killed in an ISIS-claimed attack in Syria.

Pence made the remarks while speaking at the Global Chiefs of Mission conference in Washington, D.C.

Hours before, a bomb attack claimed by Islamic State killed four U.S. troops in northern Syria, weeks after President Donald Trump said the group was defeated there and he would pull out all American forces.

A U.S. official who declined to be named said four U.S. troops had been killed and three wounded in the blast, which an Islamic State-affiliated site said was the work of a suicide bomber.
