Bus turns turtle on Expressway

GREATER NOIDA: At least 20 passengers travelling in an inter-state bus had a close shave after it overturned near Baipura village in Dankaur area of Greater Noida on Tuesday. Around five passengers received minor injuries. The bus was travelling from Jewar to Delhi.
Police said the accident occurred early morning when the driver of the bus dozed off for a few seconds. The bus overturned after it hit a divider on the Yamuna expressway.
“We received information about the accident around 5.40am. A police team soon reached the spot along with an ambulance. Around four to five passengers suffered minor injuries who were given immediate medical aid in the ambulance,” said Sunil Kumar Singh, SHO of Rabupura police station.
“The 32-year-old driver, Farooq, has admitted that he dozed off for a few seconds and the vehicle lost its balance that led to the accident. No one suffered major injuries. The passengers were offered seats in another bus that was going towards Delhi,”the SHO added.
