Man saved 2 days after falling in canal

Pune: A 60-year-old man was saved by a father-son duo from the canal, wherein he was trapped for last two days on Saswad Road near Hadapsar on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Ganpat Vishram Goriwale of Malad was sleeping the bed of the canal on January 13 evening, when it was dry. As water was released, he was caught unaware. He caught hold of A pillar under a bridge and survived for two days. 

On Tuesday afternoon, some local residents saw him and raised an alarm. Social worker Bachchu Singh Tak and his son Azad Tak jumped into the canal and brought him out. Goriwale’s condition had deteriorated and he was given medical aid. His condition is stable now.
 
Goriwale said he had been searching for work in Hadapsar. As he could not get any job, he started begging for survival. 

Officials from Hadapsar police station felicitated the Taks for saving his life.
