No more free entry: Pay Rs 10 for a visit to Riverfront from January 16

LUCKNOW:Days of free entry at Gomti Riverfront are over. Lucknow Development Authority will charge Rs 10 per person.


The ticket will be applicable from Wednesday. Besides, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA)will charge Rs 250 for three hours for professional photoshoot in the park. According to LDA estimates, nearly 2,000 people visit the riverfront daily. The number crosses 3,000 on holidays.


Recently, LDA divided the 8km long stretch of Gomti Riverfront into 12 parks.


The tickets are being introduced to increase revenue for maintenance of parks. In charge of parks, LDA, SP Sisodia said, “Earlier, the ticket facility was to be introduced from Diwali but it was postponed to December 15 owing to delay in finalisation of contractors. It was deferred again till January 16.”
