A release from TTL said Campbell is supported by an executive management team of professionals with proficiency in strategic marketing, product development, stakeholder relationship management and corporate and financial governance.
With less than one month on the job, the team by now has developed plans to take advantage of the forthcoming Carnival season, partnered with the relevant authorities to ease an ‘enhanced visitor arrival experience’.
“The team is energised and raring to go,” said Campbell. “We have a vision for transforming this industry to realize its full potential. In the coming months, we will develop our strategic plan and complete a roadmap and implementation plan in alignment with our mandate which calls for: solid product development; promotion and marketing of Trinidad’s unique tourism offerings internationally; attracting tourism investment and driving education, awareness and co-operation, for the advancement of the economy. This is consistent with the wider national developmental strategy that seeks to realign and transform the tourism industry for economic gains. This is not business as usual. We require all hands on deck and a deeper sense of pride, ownership, investment and commitment from all stakeholders if we are to succeed.”
Tourism Minister, Randall Mitchell stated that he was quite excited to greete Campbell and her team on board Tourism Trinidad Limited and keen on development and marketing of a ‘world class’ tourism product.
The company will soon connect with other stakeholders to talk about the details of their proposed plans and recognize synergies to progress TTL’s and the country’s tourism agenda.
