Kundapur man released from Kuwait jail after 7 months

UDUPI: S hankara Poojary, 40, from Basroor, Kundapur, who was arrested seven months ago by Kuwait police for carrying banned medicine, has been released. Poojary, who was working at a food and agriculture firm in Kuwait, came home on a holiday in May 2018. On his return, he agreed to take a parcel at a colleague’s request. Police found that it contained banned medicines.
The Udupi district administration and Karnataka Rakshana Vedike took up his case and convinced Kuwait police that he is innocent.
