The battle of the best in the west turned out to be a one-sided contest as the defending champions Golden State Warriors routed the Denver Nuggets 142-111 to move top of the Western Conference table.

The rout included 31 points each from Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson and also a NBA record 51 points by the Warriors in the first quarter of the game alone.

Joel Embiid was the star of the show for the 76ers as he notched up his league-leading 37th double-double with 31 points and 13 rebounds.
