Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea has apparently indicated that he's willing to stay at Manchester United FC - but his loyalty will come with a hefty price tag.

The Spaniard proved he is still among the best goalkeepers in the world at the weekend with an outstanding performance against Totenham Hotspur.

De Gea stopped 11 clear shots on target from the likes of Spurs striker Harry Kane during that match, helping the Red Devils to their sixth successive victory under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

And it is United's improved form under the interim manager - compared to the side's dismal run of results under Jose Mourinho this season - that has made the shot stopper want to commit his future to the Old Trafford outfit.

However, getting the Spaniard's signature on a long term deal won't come cheap.

According to news website Liputan 6, De Gea wants a £100,000 pay rise on top of his current salary of £200,000 a week.

And he's apparently willing to open talks on a new contract soon.

His current deal expires this June but Manchester United have already activated the year-long extension to they had on his contract.

This will keep him at the club until at least 2020.

If he does tie his future to the Red Devils in the long term, it would give him the chance to cement his reputation as one of the club's all time goalkeeping greats, even giving the likes of Peter Schmiechel and Edwin Van Der Sar a run for their money.

However, should United be unwilling to pay the price for the Spaniard, he is likely to have plenty of suitors from a host of other top club in Europe with Real Madrid said to be long-term admirers of the 28 year-old.
