Abby Long, Jaelin Jang and Mackenzie Reed all won a pair of events as Durfee earned an outright Big 3 girls' swimming title, defeating Brockton 101-82 Tuesday.

Long claimed the 100 breaststroke (1:23.79) and the 50 freestyle 927.84), Jang won the 500 free (5:37.32) and the 200 IM (2:24.07) and Reed took the 200 free (2:30.28) and the 100 backstroke (1:13.83) as the Toppers improved to 3-5 and 2-0 in league play.

Other winners for Durfee were Julianne Tazio (159-15 in the diving), Melia Bouramia (105:87 in the 100 free) and Sarah Carreiro (1:25.88 in the 100 butterfly).

Long, Jang, Reed and Bouramia also teamed up for relay wins in the 200 free (1:55.08) and the 400 free (4:23.84).

New Bedford 101, Bishop Stang 77: Camille Gendron was Bishop Stang's lone winner, taking the diving at 202.85.

The Spartans fell to 2-6.

 

Boys' swimming

Brockton 103, Durfee 52: Kareem Mahmoud was a double winner for Durfee, winning the 500 freestyle (6:52.82) and the 200 IM (2:45.35),

Daniel Katz won the one-meter diving (170.30) for the Hilltoppers, who also got a win from Benjamin Hankerson (1:02.63 in the 100 free).

Bishop Stang 100, New Bedford 68: Liam Earl and John Egger each won twice as the Spartans improved to 7-1.

Earl won the 200 free (1:57.73) and the 500 free (5:20.41), while Egger claimed the 200 IM (2:17.67) and the 100 butterfly (59.91). Other Spartan winners were Luke Earl (25.14 in the 50 free), Logan Piansetti (1:09.48 in the 100 backstroke), Patrick Clark (1:09.94 in the 100 breaststroke) and Drew Kelly (52.69 in the 100 free).

 

Boys' Basketball

Case 54, Seekonk 41: Logan Sherratt scored 21 points to lead three Cardinals in double figures.

Jordan Rodrigues added 15 points and Alex Levesque had 13 for Case, which improved to 7-3 (4-2).

Tiverton 70, Pilgrim 59: Matt Gacioch led the Tigers with 21 points and Carson Hart added 20 as the Tigers improved to 6-2.

Will Brigham added 10 points for the winners.

 

Boys' Track

Diman 54, Southeastern 46: Ed Fuentes, Sean Lobo, Ayden Andrade and Jack Cordeiro teamed up for the winning 4x200m relay team (1:40)  that was the deciding factor in defeating the Hawks.

Fuentes was also a winner in the 55-meter dash in 7.0 seconds.

Topher Frank was a double winner, claiming the 300 (38.3) and the 1,000 (3:00.30), while Liam Mooney (5:23 in the mile) and Jason Copp (36-4 in the shot put) were also Bengal winners.

Jordan Cordeiro was second in both the high jump (5-0) and the 55 hurdles (9.8), while James Vacanti was second in the 600 (1:31.6).

 

Girls' Track

Southeastern 73, Diman 22: Madilyn Ferreira (11.5 in the 55 hurdles) and Shakyra Joseph (4-2 in the high jump) were winners for Diman (2-4).

Kimberly Lajoie was second for the Bengals in the 300 (48.7), while Lorelei Hetzler was second in the 1,000 (3:59).
