Ukrainian American entrepreneur of co-founder of WhatsApp, Jan Koum, is parting ways with ten highly desirable Porsches from his collection.

All will be auctioned by Gooding & Company at the company’s annual Amelia Island Auction on March 8, 2019.

The cars in the collection are absolutely phenomenal and Koum is bound to make some serious cash from their sale. He doesn’t really need the money, however, as he’s said to be worth over $9 billion.

The collection is headlined by three Speed Yellow Carrera RS models. The trio aren’t the most powerful or fastest in Koum’s collection but they are certainly head-turners.

The first of them, a 1992 964 Carrera RS, is one of just 1910 examples built and uses an air-cooled, horizontally-opposed six-cylinder engine with 260 hp. Also among the Speed Yellow trio is a 1993 964 Carrera RS 3.8, one of only 55 ever built and one of only 12 painted this way. The final Speed Yellow model is a 1995 993 Carrera RS.

There are also a plethora of modern modern Porsche 911s in the collection, starting with a 2008 997 GT3 RS, one of only 53 in North America painted in RS Green. A 2010 911 GT3 RS and a 2011 911 GT3 RS 4.0 will also cross the auction block, the latter of which was restricted to just 158 units in North America.

Next up we have the Widowmaker, a 2011 GT2 RS that’s painted white with black accents. The final three Porsches from Koum’s collection that will be offered for sale are a 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder, 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4, and a 2016 Porsche 911 R.

If I had unlimited time and unlimited garage space, I would never sell any of them, but nevertheless I’ll be very happy to see the next owner enjoy driving these special cars on the road or on the racetrack – just as Porsche intended for them to be used.”
