Man pulled from water at south end of Bondi beach

A man fighting for his life in hospital tonight after being rescued at the south end of Bondi beach.

Emergency crews were called to the beach at about 7.30pm to reports of a man, believed to be aged 30, pulled from the water.

A spokesman for NSW Ambulance said the man was brought to shore by surfers, and members of the public were performing CPR when crews arrived.

Four crews including a medical team and a helicopter attended the scene and worked to stabilise the man before he was taken to St Vincent's Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
