• South Africans first heard of the Mercedes-AMG C43 convertible nameplate in the middle of 2016. 
• Three years on and it has benefited from the same facelift that the rest of the range underwent in 2018. 
• Inside, the main changes are the new steering wheel and a completely redesigned digital dash. 
• The updated steering wheel takes some getting used to due to the sheer number of buttons. 
• Power is derived from a meaty 3.0-litre V6 bi-turbocharged engine with 287kW and 520Nm. 
• As before, power is distributed to all four wheels, Mercedes claim a 4.8 second 0-100km/h sprint time. 
• Three famous letters: AMG's headquarters are in Affalterbach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. 
• The facelifted model also features full LED headlights. 
• The soft top is operated electronically and can be opened and closed at up to speeds of 60km/h. 
• The C43 is fitted with massive rubber to deal with close to 300kW and the brakes have awesome stopping power too. 
• Two drawbacks are the firmish ride and lack of steering feel. 
• However, there's no denying the swiftness of the C43. It's very quick and that V6 emits a wonderful noise from the quad tailpipes.
