JALANDHAR: After principals, head teachers and teachers of several schools have brought big changes in the ambience of their schools without any financial help from the state government, apart from focussing on the quality of education, Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh will be hosting 40 such teachers on January 28 for their outstanding work. The number of such schools, which have already undergone major change in their outlook, has already crossed 2,200 and more are following the same path.
“Amarinder will be treating these teachers who have done a remarkable job through their own initiatives and have become a motivation for other teachers. We are identifying those teachers who have adapted innovative approaches to improve education standards at their schools, apart from improving infrastructure,” revealed secretary education Krishan Kumar. The CM will be hosting these teachers at Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh, and interact with them.
Meanwhile, secretary, education, has himself started meeting such teachers every week. He invites 21 such teachers every week to his office and interacts with them. “They are highly motivated individuals and it is our moral duty to encourage such performers and to back their efforts,” he maintained.
