Haryana: 900 gram poppy husk seized, man held

PANCHKULA: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Haryana Police have arrested a man and seized 900 gram poppy husk from him in Kalanwali area of Sirsa district. A police official said on Tuesday that the accused was identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi, a resident of Desu Road, Mandi Kalanwali.
Divulging the details, he said a CIA team during patrolling in Mandi Kalanwali area spotted a suspicious person who tried to flee away after seeing the police. The police team immediately nabbed the accused and when searched, 900 gram of narcotic substance was recovered from his possession.
A case under NDPS Act was registered against the accused at police station, Kalanwali. He will be taken on remand after producing in the court.
