BENGALURU: For the 95 BJP MLAs who are holed up at the five star resort in Gurgaon in Haryana none appear to be certain as to what will come next.
Whether their party will come to power or will they return to their constituencies empty handed, the MLAs are said to have resigned to their fate of having to stay put till the time the top leaders in the party give their consent for their return to Karnataka.
Most MLAs took the "forced" break from their schedule of representing the constituency by relaxing at their hotel rooms, having sumptuous meals and even playing cricket.
"For MLAs, who are first timers their phones are being monitored to safeguard them from counter poaching with only a few senior MLAs given access to their own mobiles. The only respite given to them is to take walks in the cold, enjoy their private parties and play cricket on the lawns of the resort with no outsiders allowed to have interaction with them," said one party insider.
According to party sources, the BJP has even barred the MLAs personal assistants from communicating with their bosses. "These boys have been forced to stand outside the resort premises and await for them to be called inside to attend to the MLAs," said another BJP insider.
The ring leaders for the current round of efforts to topple the government include state BJP presient BS Yeddyurappa, Jagadish Shettar, Shobha Karandlaje and Arvind Limbavali. "We are ready to pack our bags and come back. However, there is no indication as to when we will be returning," said one BJP MLA inside the resort.
Yet another first time MLA said the party leaders have held continuous meetings with them over the Lok Sabha preparations.
"We are hoping to get some clarity by Wednesday on what is the next step," said the MLA.
