Teams of City Task Force (CTF) on Monday apprehended 21 people on charges of organising the banned cockfights and betting in two separate incidents.

In the first case, the CTF team, acting on credible information, conducted raids at Chattivanipalem near Auto Nagar under Gajuwaka police station limits and arrested one Sarvasiddi Paradesi (45) and 11 other persons for organising cockfight and betting in an open space.

The team seized three roosters, knives that are used in the banned game and ₹11,310 from the accused.

The apprehended persons and the seized material have been handed over to the Gajuwaka police station.

In another case, the CTF team busted a gambling den at Seethammapeta and apprehended Asokula Yesudas (28) of Relli Veedhi and eight others.

The team seized ₹17,840 cash from the spot. The apprehended persons have been handed over to Dwaraka police station for further action.
