Shocking video shows man punching passengers on Brisbane buses

Police have released shocking video of a man punching two passengers in the face on separate Brisbane buses as they continue an appeal for witnesses.

The first attack occurred on Sunday, December 9, about 7.45pm when a 40-year-old man was sitting on a bus stopped at Maundrell Terrace in Chermside West.

Security vision released by police shows a man in a red T-shirt and dark trousers, wearing a backpack, apparently punch the victim in the head before immediately exiting the bus.

The second incident occurred three days later about 5.45pm.

An 18-year-old woman was sitting on a bus stopped at South Pine Road at Everton Park when an attacker, believed to be the same man, this time wearing a red-and-white shirt and shorts, punched the woman before quickly leaving the bus.

The woman suffered facial injuries.

Passengers on buses in Brisbane's north who see the man captured in the video are asked to contact police immediately.

Investigators are also urging anyone who travels around the Albany Creek Road, Maundrell Terrace area in Aspley or Chermside West and South Pine Road, Everton Park, who may have witnessed either incident, or recognises the man, to contact them.

Dashcam footage from passing motorists or pedestrians with mobile phone footage are also asked to contact police.

Police are also appealing for anyone who may have been assaulted in a similar incident to contact them on 13 14 44.
