The Suzuki Jimny held its lead for many months but has been toppled by Volvo's XC40 is our Readers' SA Car of the Year vote.

Recently crowned Japan's car of the year Volvo XC40 snatched the lead from Suzuki Jimny by more than 50 votes.

The Jimny is second place with 838 votes while its Swift sibling remains at the bottom of our poll with only 111 votes so far. In third is Honda's hottest hatch, the 2018 Type R, with 503 votes.
