Six-year-old sexually exploited by neighbour

Nagpur: A minor, aged about six years, was allegedly exploited by a neighbour, identified as Sachin Kumbhare, 24, leading to his arrest by Lakadganj police on Monday. Kumbhare is learnt to have targeted others too in the past, but no police record was found so far. The latest survivor is a native of West Bengal.
Police said the survivor was playing in front of her house when Kumbhare lured her inside his house. Kumbhare, who worked at a garment shop at Itwari, tried to force himself upon her but she managed to flee from his clutches and narrated the matter to her mother.

Police said the survivor’s family lodged a complaint at the police station following which the accused was rounded up immediately. A senior officer of Lakadganj police station said Kumbhare was caught red-handed earlier too while trying to force himself upon the girl, but no complaint was lodged for fear of social ostracism by the survivor’s family.
