Maharashtra politician Narayan Rane’s son Nilesh Rane made some sensational claims against former Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray claiming that Thackeray had hatched a plot to kill Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam while speaking to the press in Ratnagiri.
Rane also claimed that Bal Thackeray was responsible for Shiv Sena leader Anand Dighe’s death which made to look like an accident.
Former MP Nilesh Rane questioned the nature of former Shiv Sena leader Anand Dighe’s death who died of a heart attack in Thane in 2014.
He asked: “How did Anand Dighe die? I was quiet till now but if someone says something against Rane saheb, then I won’t remain silent. For me, Rane saheb is important, not Balasaheb.”
He added: “Bal Thackeray tried to kill Sonu Nigam. Attempts were made several times. Someone go ask him, he might admit it now. Where all Shiv Sainiks went chasing him to kill him. What relationship Sonu Nigam had with Bal Thackeray, don’t ask me. Balasaheb has killed a lot of people in his Karjat farmhouse. Don’t come after me, my name is Rane.”
Nilesh Rane is the son of former Sena member Narayan Rane, who briefly served as Maharashtra CM in 1999 and was expelled by Uddhav Thackeray in 2005.
Narayan Rane was with Congress from 2005 to 2017 and now helm the Maharashtra Swabhimaan Paksh.
Nilesh Rane was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha on a Congress ticket but later lost to Vinayak Raut from Shiv Sena in the next election.
Rane was reacting to Shiv Sena MP Vinayak Raut's allegation that nine people had been killed in 10 years of Narayan Rane's political life. Narayan Rane was sent to Rajya Sabha by the BJP and was is part of the committee to prepare the manifesto for the 2019 elections.
Dighe's nephew Kedar Dighe hit out at Rane for spreading lies amongst the voters before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He demanded evidence from Rane and said that it's not right to pollute the minds of voters before elections by making such claims.
