The people of Mysuru will have another train service to Bengaluru and Chennai with effect from January 15 (Tuesday) in what is described as a ‘Sankranti gift’.
The inaugural run of train no. 02610 Mysuru – Chennai will be flagged off by Mysuru MP Pratap Simha at the city station at 10.30 a.m. on Tuesday. This is an extension of the existing Chennai-Bengaluru Express and will now run as Chennai-Mysuru Express. Regular services will begin from January 16 and train no. 12610 will depart from Mysuru at 4.45 a.m. and reach KSR Bengaluru at 7.45 a.m. Enroute it will stop at Pandavpura, Mandya, Maddur, Channapatana, Ramanagaram and Kengeri. It will depart from Bengaluru at 8.02 a.m. to reach Chennai at 2.30 p.m.
Train No. 12609 Chennai – Mysuru Express will depart from Chennai at 1.35 p.m. to reach KSR Bengaluru at 8.05 p.m. It will depart at 8.10 p.m. to reach Mysuru at 11.30 p.m. There is no change in timings of this train between Chennai and Bengaluru, the release added.
In another extension of service, train no. 17325/17326 Hubballi-Mysuru-Hubballi Vishwamanava Express will be extended to Ashokapuram. The inaugural run of the extended train will be flagged off by Mr. Simha as train no. 07326 Ashokapuram – Hubballi Inaugural Special from Ashokapuram at 9.30 a.m. on Wednesday and it will run up to Mysuru.
The release stated that the regular extended service of train No. 17325/17326 Hubballi – Ashokapuram – Hubballi Vishwamanava Express will be from Wednesday. It will depart from Ashokapuram at 5.15 a.m. to arrive at Mysuru at 5.25 a.m. and leave for Hubballi at 5.50 a.m. to reach the destination at 6.50 p.m.
In the return direction, train no. 17325 Hubballi – Ashokapuram Vishwamanava Express will depart from Hubballi at 8.30 a.m. to arrive at Mysuru at 8.40 p.m. It will depart from Mysuru at 8.55 p.m. to reach Ashokapuram at 9.15 p.m.
