Artistes of various art forms, religious heads, members of Jana Kalyana Rakshana Vedike, a pro-Kannada organisation, on Sunday took out a padayatra from Hosapete to Hampi to register their protest against the failure of the State government to organise Hampi Utsav, a three-day cultural festival of music, dance and drama. The artistes also rendered bhajans and sang devotional songs at Hampi. They have urged the State government to organise the cultural festival before the end of January failing which they would be launching an indefinite dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Ballari.
