BHOPAL: A girl who was going to appear in an exam was saved by a cop as she slipped while boarding a train on Saturday night. The cop has earned applauds and recognition from the society and senior officers of his department alike. The incident came to light after CCTV footage of the episode went viral. The incident took place at platform no 3 of Bhopal railway station. Promptness shown by of railway protection force (RPF) personnel Rahul Raghuvansi drew applauds from all corners.
According to SHO RPF Nishal Singh when Telangana Express (12723) train started off from the Bhopal railway station on Saturday night at around 10:10pm, a girl rushed towards its AC compartment. She slipped while making an attempt to board the train and her legs got stuck in the narrow space between the footboard and the platform. Witnessing the incident quick-witted RPF personnel Raghuvansi sprinted forward to grab her to save her from getting dragged under the train that had already started moving and asked onboard passengers to pull the chain after which train was stopped. His quick-thinking and presence of mind saved the girl from being dragged under the train. The girl has been identified as Rupa Agrawal, a resident of Jehangirabad area who was heading to Jhansi to appear in army recruitment examination and was accompanied with six other persons. She denied any medical assistance and left for her designation in the train.
