Two held for molesting, thrashing woman in Kolkata

KOLKATA: A woman was allegedly molested and thrashed by two men in Salt Lake when she asked them to remove their car parked outside her house.
The driver of the car and a person accompanying his child to a primary school at BK Block have been arrested in this regard.
The accused had also assaulted the brother of the woman when they asked them to park their vehicle somewhere else.
Police said one Subhankar Pramanik (35), a resident of New Town and Lithu Majumdar (40), a resident of Hanskhali were arrested on the basis of a complaint from the residents of BK 151, two hours after the scuffle broke out at around 8am on Monday.
“The woman complained that the men were parking the car in a way that was blocking their entrance and her brother had asked them to not to park the vehicle there. However, the woman complains that the men did not pay heed to their request and walked away. When her brother went out of the house and protested again, the men assaulted him,” said an officer of Bidhannagar East police station.
The woman alleged that duo assaulted her, outraged her modesty and threatened her with foul language when she tried to rescue his brother.
“Acting on the woman’s complaint, we went to the spot and arrested the two men,” said the officer.
