Mumbai: In a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his failure to fulfil poll promises, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Sunday compared Modi with the Bollywood film character ‘Ghajini’ played by veteran actor Aamir Khan. In the film Ghajini, Khan has a short memory. In the similar way, Dhananjay Munde, leader of opposition in the legislative council, claimed Modi had lost his memory and hence, he do not remember the promises he had given during his speech in 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
Munde was speaking at Nirdhar Parivartan Yatra’s fourth day in Palghar district. The NCP had begun a statewide ‘Nirdhar Parivartan Yatra’ from January 9. The party is trying to reach out through this yatra to 23 constituencies of Lok-Sabha in next 25 days.
“In a national executive meeting of the BJP concluded on Saturday, Modi had said they were proud that they had given a corruption-free government. Now Modi ji should tell what is the Vyapam? What is the Lalit Gate? What is the Rafale deal?”
The NCP leader alleged that 16 ministers of the state government have looted the public money in crores of rupees. Where is your corruption-free India? he asked.
He also said that the Chief Minister had also promised a corruption-free Maharashtra and transparency in the work would be brought in. On the contrary, corruption has increased in Maharashtra and more than Rs 90,000 crore has been looted.
Munde also pointed out that Modiji says that he is a chaukidar (watchman), who does not sleep and catch thieves. So the question is now how Lalit Modi, Vijay Mallya and Mehul Choksi have run away, he questioned.
Munde claimed, if Modi will listen his election speeches delivered in 2014, the PM himself will run away from the election campaign. He also attacked the state tribal minister Vishnu Savara saying that most of the malnourished
children are found in his constituency.
