Ben Flintoff, General Manager of Baskin-Robbins Australia said they were excited to deliver free scoops across Australia to keep everyone freshened up and cool.
'With this new range, we wanted to give parents ideas to keep their kids entertained during the home stretch of the school holidays, and sprinkle some fun energy to those who have gone back to work and need a sweet treat to get through the week' Mr Flintoff said.
The heatwave is expected to see five days surpass 30C, a record not seen in Sydney since 2011.
Due to soaring levels of humidity, the weather will feel even hotter than the recent warm spell over Christmas.
An inland trough making its way from central Australia and a high-pressure system forming over the Tasman Sea is said to be the cause for the muggy weather.
While most of Sydney will reach its peak on Saturday with a maximum of 36 degrees, Western Sydney is expected to hit a crescendo of 43 degrees on Friday.
But Sydneysiders aren't the only ones preparing for feverish conditions, with every state's temperatures to soar above average until at least Saturday.
