Assam Chief Minister Sarbananada Sonowal Monday released a DVD comprising songs videographed on the river island Majuli.
The DVD 'Majuli-O-Majuli' features songs, written by Anuradha Das and sung by singer Sangita Kakoti and Majuli Deputy Commissioner Debaprasad Misra while the videography has been directed by Anupjyoti Chowdhury.
The DVD is a good venture in projecting Majuli as an island and epicenter of Vaishnavite culture and a land of harmonious co-existence of people belonging to different faith, the chief minister said.
"I convey my best wishes and heartiest congratulations to all those involved in the making of the DVD," Sonowal said.
Sonowal released the DVD at the Deputy Commissioner's office where Misra, Superintendent of Police Hitesh Chandra Roy and other senior officers of the district were present.
The chief minister's visit to his assembly constituency Majuli was marked by waving of black flag and protests by various organisations demanding scrapping of the Citizenship Amendment Bill.
