Ludhiana police arrests two with drugs, Rs 30 lakh cash

Picture for representational purpose onlyLUDHIANA: The Ludhiana (rural) police and counter intelligence wing have arrested two Ludhiana based drug peddlers after they recovered 500 grams heroin, 610 grams cocaine with cash of rupees thirty lakh made from drug sale by the duo.
The accused were identified as Khushhaal alias Sahil Sharma of Durgapuri in Baddi Haibowal and Gagan Vij of Chander Nagar, both arrested in Ludhiana and aged between 22 and 23 years.
On Saturday, the police party of ASI Jank Raj received a secret information that Khushhaal and Gagan smuggle heroine and cocaine and then sell it in the nearby areas of the Jagraon police district, said Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Ludhiana (rural) Varinder Singh Brar on Monday.
The police officer said that on Saturday at around 4 pm, sub inspector Simarjit Singh arrested Khushhaal while he was going on Bhaini Badinga to Johlan Road and the cops were able to recover 100 grams heroine from him. Further, he added that police arrested second accused Gagan from Ludhiana and recovered 400 grams heroine along with 610 grams cocaine from his possession.
"Around Rs 30 lakh were also recovered from Gagan Vij. This money was made from smuggling of drugs by the accused," said SSP.
