Indian Misson in Islamabad issued a note verbale to Pakistan Foreign Office last week lodging a strong protest over harassment of Indian diplomats in Pakistan.
High Commission of India in Pakistan wrote to the Pakistani govt over attempts made to hack social media accounts of senior Indian diplomats. In a brazen move by the Pakistani establishment, Indian envoy Ajay Bisaria and Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh were closely followed and aggressively watched by a Pakistani security officials at a wedding in Islamabad a couple of weeks ago, sources told India Today.
This news comes a day after an official of the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi on Sunday (January 13) got involved in an altercation with an Indian woman at a market place in the city.
The woman then took the official to the nearby police station and lodged a complaint against him. No formal arrest, however, was made since he was a diplomat.
While the official, who is not a diplomat, was let off, Pakistan government sources continued to claim that he was arrested and protested this "alleged violation" of the Vienna convention on diplomatic relations. Sources in Pakistan say, "India has to observe diplomatic norms and Vienna Convention. India has to get out of panic mode of votes and elections."
