2019 Ram Heavy Duty: 1,000 pound-feet of diesel power

[MUSIC] All right truck fans, we have reached a milestone. The 2019 RAM Heavy Duty has four digits of torque. That's right, 1000 pound-feet of torque. That's 1-0-0-0, why could you possibly need this much torque? Well, that answer is simple, y'all. It's called towing and hauling. So, the new HD can haul 35100 pounds and you can throw 6700 pounds of payload into the bed. That's so much that you actually need a CDL to haul and tow with this bad boy. So, just for context, how much is 35000 pounds? Well you can tow 15 Miatas and you can throw in an F-350 in the bed just for good measure. Now to support all that weight the Ram has got a newly redesigned frame that's got six crossmembers and fully boxed rear rails but still somehow with the use of lightweight materials it still weighs 143 pounds less than the outgoing model. Now, those 1,000 torques are pushed out by a 6.7 liter Cummins diesel engine that has got 400 horsepower. Now, if you don't need that much torque, you can get a Cummins with about 850 pound-feet of torque. And there's also a gas version which puts out in the mid 400s. Now, if you're looking for off-road, you can still get the Ram Power Wagon. Sure, you lose a little bit in towing and hauling, but you get all those off-road goodies like front and rear locking differentials. You get disconnecting sway bar and a 12,000 pound warn winch on the front. Yes, please. Now inside, you've got the same giant 12 inch screen that's running Ram's excellent Uconnect system. And in terms of driver's aids, you've got blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control. Plus there is even a tire pressure monitor system that can monitor all your wheels, even on the Doolies. You've got no word on pricing or availability yet, but this is a 2019 model, so I'd expect it to be in dealerships pretty down quickly. [BLANK_AUDIO]
