Will Akhilesh choose Mayawati over his father Mulayam for PM’s post: Yogi Adityanath

UP CM Yogi Adityanath (PTI photo)A day after the Akhilesh-Mayawati alliance, UP CM Yogi Adityanath tried to drive a wedge between SP and BSP on Sunday by recalling their tumultuous past and pointing at inherent contradictions between the two parties.
Speaking at an event in Lucknow, Yogi asked Akhilesh if he chose Mayawati over his father and SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav for the PM’s post. “In the last parliamentary elections, Akhilesh wanted his father to be the PM. Who is he projecting this time as PM, Mulayam or Mayawati?” Yogi said. “It is not clear if Mulayam Singh Yadavji would even get an SP ticket to contest this time,” he said.
“Mayawati has done a favour to SP. Akhilesh would have settled for even 10 seats. He knows it will be difficult to even secure the Kannauj seat from where he plans to contest,” Yogi said.
