Nagpur: There have been instances of violence breaking out on the streets of Nagpur since the end of 2018. In yet another such incident of violence in the hometown of Chief Minister Fadnavis, at 11pm on Friday, gangster Gaurav alias Pandya Pillevaan was killed at Kamal chowk, by rivals. He was brutally murdered by sharp-edged weapons. According to police, Pillevaan in 2016, had killed a youth at the same spot. Thereafter he was in jail for a while. He had recently been released on bail. The relatives of the murdered youth had brought restraining orders on Pillevaan preventing him from entering the Kamal chowk area.
Despite these orders, he was seen freely roaming in and around the area of Paach Pavli, which is in the same neighbourhood. Taking advantage of his behaviour three to four gangsters attacked him with sharp-edged weapons, while he was in Shanichara Bazaar. He died on the spot and Paach Pavli police registered a case of murder, a senior police official. Swinging into action, a team of police personnel arrested Yogesh Dhanvijay for his alleged involvement in the crime. The cops are on the lookout for the other accused. Further investigation are underway, he further added.
