MUSTANGS FC

Season final ★★★★

5pm, ABC ME

The whole first act of this final episode of Mustangs FC is taken up by a penalty shoot-out. And it's utterly gripping. This may be made for teens but, like all really great television, it can be enjoyed by just about anyone and the fresh, fabulous, natural girls that populate this acclaimed local comedy-drama are just a delight to spend time with. Tonight, several major plot threads are concluded – but we're also set up for a thrilling season three.

THE KIMBERLEY CRUISE: AUSTRALIA'S LAST GREAT WILDERNESS

★★½

7.30pm, SBS

Slow TV's all very well but I'm not quite sure how we're supposed to watch this – especially at this time of year. Superficially, yes, holidays are a time to slow down and relax but in reality summer is not the best time to spend hours zoned out in front of the telly. The sun's shining, people! Get outside! A better idea would be to record this and save it for the depths of winter, when we'll all be dreaming of a sun-drenched cruise along the north-west coast.

HAIRY BIKERS BAKEATION

★★★½

7.30pm, SBS Food

Like the Two Fat Ladies before them, there's nothing about Si and Dave that screams "gourmet" – or even really inspires you to eat. On the contrary, the sight of those well-upholstered tummies makes you want to put down your sandwich and go for a brisk walk. And yet (like the Two Fat Ladies) they make it work, through their enthusiasm, the pleasure of their enduring friendship and their lively sense of the absurd. Tonight's adventure takes in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
